Multiple heterogenous genes are correlated with carcinogenesis of colorectal cancer.<br>However, the causative factors and molecular mechanisms of colorectal carcinogenesis<br>have not been fully determined. Expression of oncogenes in colorectal cancer tissue was<br>evaluated with immunohistochemical staining methods using monoclonal antibodies to<br>products of the oncogenes. Rates of expression in colorectal cancer tissue were 26% for<br>c-myc,89% for c-erb B<sub>2</sub>, and 63% for c-Ha ruts oncogenes. Expression of<br>these oncogenes in colorectal cancer was not correlated with the<br>histologic<br>differentiation, the pathological stage, location of cancer and DNA plaid pattern. The rate<br>of expression of c-myc and c-Ha rats oncogenes in colorectal cancer tissues was<br>correlated with each other. Expression of c-myc, c-Ha-ras, and c-erb B<sub>2</sub><br>oncogenes did not correlete with other prognostic factor such as DNA ploidy pattern and<br>pathological stage.<br>
