Primary adenocarcinoma of the vermiform appendix is very rare, fewer than 250 cases<br>having been reported since the first report by Begar in 1882.<br>It is never diagnosed preoperativery and most patients go to surgery for appedicitis,<br>and only histologic examination provides the correct dignosis. The symptoms are right<br>lower quadrant pain, palpable mass, intestinal obstruction, weight loss etc. Primary<br>adenocarcinoma of the appendix has a three varieties; carcinoid,<br>mucinous<br>cystadenocarcinoma, and colonic type adenocarcinoma. To obtain the best prognosis, we<br>recommend that right hemicolectomy be performed for primary adenocarcinoma of the<br>appendix, either at the initial operation or subsequently.<br>Two patients with primary appendiceal adenocarcinoma have recently presented at the<br>department of surgery, Inha University Hospital. We report two cases and review the<br>literatures.<br>
