Prolapsed hemorrhoids always accompany some degree of destruction and degeneration<br>in Treitz muscle due to hypertrophic anal cushions.<br>I've tried the transfixing of Pile pedicle to internal sphincter for the purpose of<br>restoring the supporting function of Treitz muscle since 1987.<br>With the functional restoration of Treitz muscle, other operative procedures were<br>performed into two forms, which differed in the distance of skin incision and<br>submucosal dissection. In the latter technique, the distance of skin incision<br>from<br>anocutaneous junction was shorter and level of submucosal dissection above dentate line<br>was higher.<br>All patients were prolapsed hemorrhoids in the 3rd or 4th degree, and 64 cases were<br>operated by the former technique, while 80 cases by the latter technique.<br>The latter technique showed significant improvement in wound healing and reduction<br>in wound discharge or infectious complications comparing the former.<br>There was not a single case of recurrence in both techniques. 94％ of all patients<br>were subjectively satisfied with their hemorrhoidectomies of the functional restoration of<br>Treitz muscle.<br>
