The carcinoma of the anus accounts for 1∼4% of colorectal malignancies. There were<br>so few reports of anal cancer that characteristics of patient and biologic property of anal<br>cancer have been difficult to identify. The anal intercourse was closely related to the<br>anal lesions such as condyloma acuminata, anal cancer and AIDS. Recent years, the<br>incidence of anal cancer in homosexual men has increased.<br>Using flow cytometric DNA analysis of paraffic embedded tissue. DNA histograms<br>were obtained from the 27 condyloma acuminata of anus. Of 27 ana3 condyloma<br>acuminata, 19(70%) were diploid, 2(8%) were tetraploid, and 6(22%) were aneuploid. In<br>one case of condyloma acuminata with a multiploid DNA histogram, anal cancer with a<br>DNA index identical to one of two abnormal DNA stemlines in the condyloma<br>acuminata was diagnosed one year later.<br>The DNA ploidy pattern was changed before histological change and anal condyloma<br>acuminata may be one of the precancerous lesions of anal cancer.<br>
