The current trend of operative method for complete rectal prolapse was analysed in<br>the 640 Korean patients with this disease.<br>The Rehn-Delorme operation was performed in 146 cases(22.8%), Ripstein operation in<br>139 cases(21.7% ), Orr operation in 125 cases(19.5% ).<br>Although abdominal Procedure such as Ripstein operation or Orr operation<br>was<br>Performed more frequently be(ore 1980s, the frequency of perineal procedures such as<br>Rehn-Delorme operation or Gant-Miwa operation had been incresing as an<br>initial<br>procedure because of their simplicity.<br>The male to female ratio of 98 cases of Taegu area was 2.3 : 1. The peak age<br>incidence was 20s in male and more than 60 in female.<br>Reassessment of the effectiveness of each operative method for complete<br>rectal<br>prolapse in Korean should be needed with complete records and long-term follow up.<br>
